Bettering the time set by the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV in September last year by a over 11 seconds, the limited to 300 units Project 8 packs a Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) tuned version of Jaguar-Land Rover's long-serving 5.0-litre supercharged V8, that punches out 441 kW and 700 Nm of torque.
Shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June this year, the Project 8 is restricted to left-hand drive only with Jaguar claiming a top speed of 322 km/h and 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
"The SVO design and engineering team’s mission was to create the most track-focused road-legal Jaguar in history – not only the fastest, but also the most agile. As a result, only the roof and front door skins of Project 8’s body are carried-over unaltered from XE and 75 per cent of its mechanical hardware is new. This astonishing Nürburgring Nordschleife record validates the success of such extensive changes," SVO Director Mark Stanton said in a statement.
