Replacing the long discontinued Meriva and slotting in below the Mokka X, the Crossland X, which rides on the same PF1 platform as the Peugeot 2008, measures 4 212 mm in overall length with a height of 1 590 mm and width of 1 765 mm, which Opel claims translates to a total cargo capacity of 520-litres or 1 255-litres with the rear seats folded down.
PSA power
Incorporating styling cues from the Astra, Mokka X and Insignia Grand Sport, the Crossland X line-up consists of four models, all powered by a PSA sourced petrol engine, namely the 1.2-litre three-cylinder mill found in the Peugeot 208 and 308. In all models, drive goes to the front wheels only.
Starting the range off, the base model's naturally unit produces 60 kW and 118 Nm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. No performance figures were divulged with Opel merely claiming a combined fuel consumption figure of 4.8 L/100 km, and emissions of 115 g/km.
The mid-spec Enjoy and flagship Cosmo models meanwhile employ the PureTech 110 motor, which adds a turbocharger to the equation for a output of 81 kW and 205 Nm. Like the Enjoy, a five-speed manual 'box is standard with a six-speed automatic optional on the latter.
Oddly, all three models have different consumption and emissions figures with the Enjoy Plus having a similar rating as the Enjoy but with emissions at 109 g/km, while the Cosmo manual has numbers of 4.9 L/100 km and 111 g/km. The Cosmo automatic though has a claimed average of 5.4 L/100 km and emissions of 123 g/km.
