Again sourced from Mercedes-AMG like the 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, the new DB11 V8 comes fitted with the same 4.0-litre blown bent eight used in a myriad of AMG models, but returned to develop 375 kW and 675 Nm of torque.
Mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the V8 will sprint from rest to 100 km/h in four seconds, and reach a top speed of 301 km/h, with the former figure only 0.1 second slower than the V12 thanks to a 115 kg weight reduction. Additional changes underneath the skin consist of a bespoke air intake, new exhaust system, remapped ECU software and reprogrammed throttle mapping.
Aside from the drop in power and engine size, visual differences between the respective models are subtle with the V8 featuring a black or titanium finished mesh grille, unique alloy wheels, dark headlight bezels and dual bonnet vents as opposed to the V12's four. Equipment levels are however unchanged.
Expected to bow at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this coming weekend, the V8 will command a sticker price of £144 900 in the United Kingdom, with delivers set to commence in the final quarter of 2017.
