GEORGE NEWS - Police have arrested approximately 40 taxi drivers at the taxi rank in the CBD.
Police, law enforcement officials and provincial traffic officials, as well as members of the Public Order Policing Unit (Pops), are still present in the CBD.
The taxis are parked at the taxi rank, not currently taking any passengers.
While there is some police presence, all is calm in the CBD.
GO GEORGE services remain suspended.
