GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - Western Cape Ministers Bonginkosi Madikizela and Donald Grant were met by a huge crowd in Thembalethu during their visit this afternoon, in the aftermath of a violent protest yesterday.

It is evident from the reaction of the people that they are highly emotional.
Several speakers from the community are taking turns to have their say.
Police presence is heavy inside and outside the small building in the middle of the township.
The residents were expecting mayor Melvin Naik but he did not join the meeting.
Also present are Deputy Mayor Charlotte Clarke, Director of Human Settlements Charles Lubbe, Director of Protection Services Steven Erasmus, Deputy Director of Electrical Services Paul Gerber, Steyn van der Merwe (also of Electrical Services) and DA councillor Edmund Bussack.
The directors also addressed the crowd, touching on a few burning issues.
