BUSINESS NEWS AND VIDEO - The Kingswood Golf Estate officially opened its brand-new community centre and clubhouse on Monday morning, 1 September - a fitting celebration for the first day of spring.
Residents, homeowners, golfers and guests gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by speeches and light refreshments.
The completion of this project marks a major milestone in the estate’s growth as one of the Garden Route’s premier secure, family-friendly residential golf estates.
The new facility was financed by the Kingswood homeowners themselves and designed to be the centrepiece of the estate, a place where residents, golfers and visitors can connect, celebrate and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.
With panoramic views of the Outeniqua Mountains, the centre offers not only world-class amenities, but also an inspiring backdrop for everyday living and special occasions. “This is more than a clubhouse. It’s a world-class lifestyle facility,” said Kingswood CEO Willem Jacobs.

Built with modern architecture, energy-efficient technologies, high-speed connectivity and advanced security, the centre is designed to serve the community well into the future.
One of its highlights is La Famiglia, the estate’s signature restaurant, offering fine dining and casual family meals. With breathtaking views, versatile event spaces and a modern private dining room, the restaurant is already being hailed as a new culinary destination. Younger residents can enjoy a brand-new jungle gym or build their own pizzas at La Famiglia, while cultural programmes and community events are set to become regular features.
For golfers, the estate has introduced a fleet of 52 E-Z-GO golf carts equipped with GPS touchscreens, providing real-time navigation and scoring assistance.
The clubhouse and community centre are designed to be multifunctional.
Homeowners can book venues for private functions and community events, golfers benefit from upgraded operations, a pro shop and professional standard facilities while visitors are welcome to enjoy the course and dine at La Famiglia.
“This milestone represents the achievement of our homeowners and their commitment to excellence,” Jacobs said.
“It enhances property values, attracts new residents and ensures Kingswood continues to grow as the preferred residential golf estate in the region.”
Kingswood trustee Jonathan Witss-Hewinson welcomes all the visitors to the event with a ditty and a fairytale.
