Hot weather forecast with fire danger warning for the Karoo

GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - In the latest weather forecast from the South African Weather Service, hot weather will prevail over the Garden Route, Karoo region on Friday and Saturday.

Fire danger warning:

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Beaufort West and Laingsburg municipalities today, Friday 16 May.

A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the Richtersveld municipality in the Northern Cape.

Western Cape
Morning fog in places in the south and again in the south-west from the evening, otherwise fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy along the south-coastline. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, reaching strong in places along the west and south coast in the morning, otherwise light to moderate easterly.

It will become moderate to fresh southerly along the south-west and the south-coast from the evening. The expected UVB sunburn index: Moderate

Western half of the Eastern Cape
Fine and warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
Fine and warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly.
