MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The 2025 Hot Summer of Touch, one of the biggest touch rugby tournaments in the country, ended its three-and-a-half-week-long tour with the finals held in Hartenbos yesterday, 29 December.
The tournament kicked off in Camps Bay on 7 December, before moving on to Kleinmond, Strand, Macassar, Struisbaai, Stilbaai and Dias Beach in Mossel Bay before yesterday's finals.
Grahame Bobrow, the tournament's director said the competition drew in over 300 teams and thousands of spectators, adding it was the "best touch rugby action in the country" and "a wonderfully successful series,".
He said the finals, which took place at the Hartenbos ATKV Amphitheatre, saw 26 teams compete.
"The tournament was won by the Rugby Bum Warriors from Struisbaai who once again showed their class and vindicated their place in the Pro Series overall, at their first attempt," said Bobrow.
"They defeated the Straf Doppe in the cup final. Team OK defeated Dolphins Touch in the plate final.
"The Hot Summer of Touch management would like to thank everyone from the players to the sponsors, venues and service providers for their continued support in contributing to a great series," he said.
