GEORGE NEWS - Georgians are invited to join in the annual Global Day of Prayer evebt at the show grounds on 23 May from 15:00 to 17:00.
Believers from literally every nation across the globe take part in this day of united prayer and repentance.
It is the 10-year celebration of the Global Day of Prayer this year. Whilst Christians from around the world will unite in prayer on Newlands Rugby Stadium in Cape Town - where everything started - millions will once again gather in their own nations.
The Global Day of Prayer started in 2000 when South African businessman, Graham Power, had a vision based on 2 Chron. 7:14 of challenging Christians in Southern Africa to unite in prayer. It expanded such that by 2009 220 countries in the world were participating.
"Together with the 10 days leading up to and the 90 days of blessing following the Global Day of Prayer, there is a sense that the call to unity and repentance is deepening," says Jaco Fourie, a local organiser.
