GEORGE NEWS - Uncedo Taxi Association has wished its commuters and the entire community of George a safe festive season and happy new year, saying everyone must drive safely and arrive alive.
The chairman of Uncedo, Welele Mbudede, thanked everyone who throughout the year has worked with them and those who continue to support them.
"We appeal to those who will be travelling during this festive time to see their loved ones, to drive safely and obey the rules of the road," he said.
Mbudede also urged commuters to travel with safe, registered and reliable transport to avoid fatalities and accidents. "We also appeal to our drivers to be cautious on the roads and and work hand in had with their commuters, hope that the commuters and allow the drivers to rest when they feel tires on the road."
The George Community Forum also wished people a joyous Christmas and prosperous new year. Xolisani Booi, chairman of the forum, encourages people to be cautious on the roads. His wish is that everyone will return safe and energised for next year, and work together to build better communities.
"I appeal to people to look after their children and loved ones on the beaches. Make sure that everyone is safe. We also ask people to cooperate with the police and law enforcement agencies, so that we can reduce crime during this festive season," said Booi.
