GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - Siyanda Dlamini from Mandeni in KwaZulu-Natal is walking across the country to converse with people on peace and stability. This lovely soul spent a portion of Easter Weekend in George, from where he journeyed further on Wednesday 20 April to the Eastern Cape.
It is Dlamini's first journey on foot, but his second for this noble cause.
Last year he cycled from Durban to Soweto, but this time round he extended his mission to Mpumalanga, Gauteng, North West, Free State, Northern, Western, and Southern Cape as he wanted to reach more people.
"I don't move fast, the aim is to reach more people," he said on Tuesday afternoon during a chat at the George Museum. "People need to see me on the road and have time for a conversation."
Asked what prompted this initiative, he said his awareness of what is happening around him. "People are becoming angry. I saw so many people dying last year December. We should free ourselves of anger and stop fighting among ourselves. We must celebrate our differences and love each other. God made us like this and we should appreciate each other, no matter what the colour of our skin. I must celebrate and love you."

Dlamini is planning a two-week walk in the United States later this year and wants people to join his mission. "I want to reach the whole world," he said. "We need to talk about peace and I need some assistance." Follow his Facebook Page, "Peace Walk 2022".
