GEORGE NEWS - As an insurance company that prides itself on giving soft landings to their clients, as well as to the communities they live and work in, dotsure.co.za’s dedication to uplifting people, children and animals in need brings to life the commitment to kindness that underpins everything they do.
“We don’t believe it’s enough to simply provide excellent value, service and products to our clients,” says chief operating officer David Roache. “We believe it’s our responsibility to give back to our communities too. As a purpose-driven insurer, providing soft landings isn’t just a practical goal, it’s our reason for being.
Soft Landings is the name given to dotsure.co.za’s dedicated community department. In 2020 alone, they organised a food packing scheme that fed over one million people.
As of May 2021, they’ve fed more than 400 000 people and aim to reach their 2020 target once again: to feed an incredible one million people by the end of the year.
Along with working to help people, dotsure.co.za also works closely with the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL). Whenever a client buys a pet insurance policy online through them, a portion of the client's first premium goes toward feeding a shelter puppy at the AACL for a month.
When social media posts asking for help with sterilisations, vet bills, food, the insurer often steps in to lend a hand.

In April this year, a Facebook post by Salomé Bruyns of the Garden Route SPCA shared a heart-breaking situation. She had been approached by an elderly lady who needed to surrender her dog, Whiskey, due to financial difficulties. dotsure.co.za immediately responded to Bruyn's call for help and stepped up to pay for the dog’s much-needed medical treatments.

That same month the company was approached by female learners from Denneoord Primary School asking for support in helping keep their peers, many of whom don’t have access to sanitary products, in school.
Shortly afterwards supplies were delivered and, going forward, the school has been listed to receive supplies monthly as part of the Hope Church George campaign to Keep A Girl in School.
"dotsure.co.za is an organisation who is not only passionate about animals, but also about giving back, and they continue to make a difference in the lives of animals throughout South Africa," says Carren Nickloes, marketing manager at the AACL.
But dotsure.co.za doesn’t only work with organisations - they also respond directly to the needs of their communities.
"As much as the power of the dotsure.co.za brand is behind these uplifting initiatives, we ultimately wouldn’t be able to do any of this without the ongoing support of our loyal clients," says Roache.
"We’re grateful to them for choosing an insurer whose values align with their own, and we’re continuously looking for more ways to give back to the communities we live, work and play in."
