GEORGE NEWS - A sea of pink permeated through the Algoa FM Big Walk routes in Gqeberha, East London and George on Saturday 5 November as more than 11 000 people joined the Big Walk for Cancer.
The annual walk is held to celebrate survivors, honour loved ones undergoing treatment and remember those who succumbed to the disease.
This year was the first time in its 24-year history that the event was held simultaneously in George and East London.
"We are extremely pleased with the turnout of this event after two years of virtual participation. The atmosphere in all three centres was incredible," said Alfie Jay, Algoa FM managing director.
