GEORGE NEWS - Prospective chefs and existing François Ferreira Academy of Culinary Arts students got their first glimpse of the state-of-the-art kitchen at the new François Ferreira custom-designed premises at Mount View Resort in York Street.
On Friday 25 and Saturday 26 May potential students and their parents were welcomed to the new ultra-modern premises by excited members of staff, chuffed with the new setup.
François Ferreira said, "The first thing students think of when it comes to state-of-the-art kitchens are the appliances as they know they must be trained with new technology that goes hand in hand with our ever changing world. We have 20 work stations laid out to ensure maximum efficiency along with clever new organisation strategies that will give students a restaurant-inspired workspace from day one."
Business partner at the François Ferreira Academy, Denise Lindley said, "At the open days we interacted with our potential students as they weigh up their options of entering the culinary world, which is suffering from a shortage of skilled and dedicated staff in the wake of the expected tourism boom, as the political situation in the country returns to normal."

Ferreira said that hobby chefs and cooks will also be accommodated in the new Academy with short courses in various disciplines.
The grand opening will take place on Tuesday 19 June.
