GEORGE NEWS - Curro George is celebrating its 10th anniversary! We look at the fruitful path and see our growth - from starting out as only a nursery school to becoming a fully fledged primary school.
Since 2021, an additional grade has been phased in yearly, with Grade 7 in 2025.
Curro is perfect for parents looking for a safe environment where their children are valued, positively challenged, and don't get lost in the crowd. Maximum class size is 25 with a truly dedicated team of teachers. With our passionate executive head Chantel Brummer in the lead, parents can be sure that their child(ren) are receiving quality education.
In keeping with the school's ethos, each child's culture and belief system is respected.
"We offer varied and rigorous academic programmes, but we believe in balance and therefore we also have various sport disciplines, physical education, and cultural activities. We are unique in that all these activities are included in the school fee," says Brummer.
Art and choir are the cultural activities we offer. Modern facilities include: a robotics lab, computer lab and astro turf. Learners can choose from several activities. "There is no shortage of learning materials and resources whatsoever," says Brummer.
An enhanced Caps curriculum is followed, and intervention classes are available. Holiday programmes are offered each school holiday with the nursery school remaining open. School fees also include balanced meals from the tuck shop that supplies healthy snacks.
Brummer says open communication with parents is extremely important to the school. "Workshops are also held with parents to give guidance on various topics."
Bus transport, with morning and afternoon routes, outings and sport events are in the pipeline.
Curro has solid security protocols in place. "The children are at school for long hours, and we offer a safe space where they are in a strict routine filled with lots of learning, love and fun. We are one big family."
