GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The Garden Route district has 23 confirmed Covid-19 cases as of Tuesday 6 December. Nadia Ferreira, regional health spokesperson for Western Cape Health, says there has been a decline in reported cases when compared to the number of cases 7 to 14 days ago.
"We are also aware that fewer people go for testing. We have no hospital admissions at present. We had one death in the last 7 days as a result of Covid.
There is no reason for concern and but we encourage the public to get vaccinated and go for their boosters in order to protect themselves and their community," said Ferreira.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has been reporting a gradual increase in Covid cases in some parts of the country - also the Western Cape - in the past three months.
