GEORGE NEWS - Due to power outages and other damages, telephone lines at George Municipality are currently experiencing exceptionally high call volumes. If your call is not answered immediately, please remain patient.
The system operates on a call-waiting basis. Calls may also drop occasionally due to broader network congestion affecting the George area.
Weather-related power outages in parts of George
To date, more than 95% of George’s electricity supply has been restored.
Restorations planned for today:
- Wilderness Heights: Erica Rd, to be restored today. Dinnie Line/ Silver River Rd - Repairs in progress. Severn Passes and Tien Myl Ave - repairs in progress
- Hoekwill: Hoekwil Main line, Oliefanthoek and Platrug Rd to be restored today. Kamaasie Rd - repairs in progress
- Protea Park plakkers - excavations in progress to install a new pole and line
- Victoria Bay: M. Lammers Antiques, Vodacom tower, and Overdale B&B. Excavation and medium-voltage repairs are in progress. No ETR available.
- Boschkloop Riool Pumpstation, work is scheduled to continue today. No ETR yet
- Katdoring Close - Pole still to be planted outstanding to be planted.
- The Zone 4 area is off due to work being carried out following storm damage. Several houses are still off. Restoration plan for today
Fully restored:
- Woodlands Farm, restored.
George Municipality thanks residents for their patience and cooperation while teams continue to restore the electricity supply across the municipal area.
