Update
GEORGE NEWS - In addition to the existing power outages currently being attended to across the George municipal area, a new major power outage has occurred in the following areas:
- Victoria Bay
- Wilderness CBD
- Wilderness Heights
- Wilderness East
- Hoekwil
- Pine Dew
Medium-voltage lines have been damaged due to fallen trees. Contractors first need to clear trees and servitudes before repair work can commence.
There is currently no estimated time of repair (ETR).
Electrical teams continue to attend to several high-voltage and low-voltage power outages across George.
Service providers assist
Service providers (local contractors) are currently assisting various municipalities across the Garden Route with storm-related electricity repairs.
This may impact the progress of repair and electrification work within the George municipal area.
