ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The George Music Society will welcome renowned South African tenor Thomas Erlank and acclaimed pianist Tinus Botha to the George Arts Theatre on Friday 7 August for an evening of classical music featuring Robert Schumann's celebrated song cycles "Dichterliebe" and "Liederkreis".
The programme combines Schumann's timeless compositions with the poetry of Heinrich Heine, offering audiences an intimate and expressive recital performed by two of South Africa's leading classical musicians.
Erlank and Botha have presented this programme to widespread acclaim at venues across South Africa, as well as in Central and South America.
Their international tour saw them perform to audiences of more than 1 600 people, and the warm reception left the duo inspired to continue sharing the works of Schumann with music lovers.
The concert at the Arts Theatre in York Street will begin at 19:00.
Tickets are R150 for George Music Society members, R190 for the general public, and R50 for learners, and are available at the Arts Theatre during office hours. - Compiled by Michelle Pienaar
