GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Route Mall recently announced a partnership with Bethesda Medical and Relief Services, one of the leading cancer support organisations in the community, to host a cancer awareness outreach.
As part of this initiative, the mall donated R6 000 in support of Pink Trees for Pauline, a nationwide campaign dedicated to creating awareness and raising funds by wrapping trees in pink as a powerful symbol of hope.
In line with this, 82 trees at both Bethesda’s premises and the Garden Route Mall were beautifully wrapped in pink, standing as a reminder of the fight against cancer and the importance of early detection.
On the day of the event, Bethesda Medical and Relief Services hosted an interactive outreach at the charity court (opposite Le Creuset store) inside the mall.
Customers and visitors had the opportunity to learn about early signs of cancer and prevention methods, receive free health checks, including blood pressure and glucose testing, and engage with healthcare professionals who were on site to provide guidance and information.
“Garden Route Mall was honoured to walk alongside Bethesda Medical and Relief Services in raising awareness and supporting the fight against cancer," said Tumi Masango, marketing manager of the mall.

"This was more than a campaign - it was about empowering our community with knowledge, hope and preventative care,” said Masango.
“Thank you to everyone who joined us for this important initiative. Together, we took action, spread hope and stood united against cancer.”
