SQUASH NEWS - The Growthpoint SA National squash regionals for Eden took place in Mossel Bay from 28 to 30 March.
Altogether 37 juniors participated in the u.11, u.13, u.15, u.17 and u.19 age groups.
The matches were keenly contested, and a high standard of play was prevalent.
Brothers Damian and Luhann Groenewald also played an exhibition game in front the participating juniors.
Luhann will participate in the upcoming world qualifying event, while Damian will compete in the u.23 World Championships in Pakistan from 6 to 10 April.
The u.15, u.17 and u.19 players will now compete in the national event in Cape Town on 15 to 23 August.
They are Hanja Gildenhuys, Codey Abrahams, Hanrie Duits, Christian Swanepoel, Dene van Zyl and Joseph Feast.

Big squash on its way to Eden
The world championships qualifying event for Africa will be played in Mossel Bay from 7 to 10 April.
A number of up-and-coming players from across Africa will be participating, including Dewald van Niekerk (SA’s no 1), Luhann Groenewald (no 3) and the top SA women’s player, Hayley Ward.
A lot is at stake, as the winners automatically qualify to play in the world championships in Chicago from 9 to 17 May.
