SOCCER NEWS - Raul Stars FC received a timely boost on Monday afternoon, 16 March, as Pika Tech, in partnership with Tshezi Foundation, donated soccer training equipment at Thembalethu Community Hall in Zone 3.
The sponsorship arrives at a crucial stage for the 11-year-old Thembalethu-based club as it prepares for a push toward promotion to the Regional League in the 2026/27 season.
Pika Tech representative Bandile Mbalo said the initiative is aimed at strengthening football culture and investing in local talent.
He emphasised the importance of building a stronger community through sport, adding that the company is committed to long-term support for Raul Stars.
Mbalo, who grew up playing football in Thembalethu, said the donation is part of giving back to the community that shaped him.
Mbalo was accompanied by the founder of Pika Tech, former Thembalethan Ayanda Gantsu.
Club representatives Xola Makinana and Luvuyo Ncamile welcomed the support, thanking Pika Tech and singling out Gantsu for this donation and his belief in the club’s vision.
They highlighted that the sponsorship goes beyond equipment, serving as an investment in youth development and social transformation.
Raul Stars FC uses football to address socio-economic challenges such as youth unemployment, crime prevention and social cohesion.
The club believes the partnership marks the start of a sustained relationship rather than a once-off donation. With this backing, Raul Stars is better positioned to develop talent, promote inclusivity and strengthen community ties through sport.
