Mhlongo suffered damage to his anterior cartilage ligament in Bucs’ 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United earlier this season.
He underwent an operation to his knee last month and it was initially suggested he could be out for up to eight weeks. However, Tinkler has now revealed that Mhlongo could be back sooner than that.
“Brighton Mhlongo is actually progressing quite well. As you are aware, he was originally predicted to be out for up to eight weeks. We’re now being informed by the medical staff that he will be back within the next three weeks,” said Tinkler.
