This morning, more than 23 000 workers in the petrochemical and pharmaceutical sectors, started to strike.
The call was made by the Chemical, Energy, Paper, Printing, Wood and Allied Workers Union (Ceppwawu).
IOL news reported the strike is due to a number of unresolved demands tabled by the union on behalf of workers at the bargaining council and that workers wants a 9 percent increase. Employees, however, offered a 7% for 2016.
Layton Beard, from the Automobile Association says a fuel shortage will depend on how long the strike lasts.
