GEORGE NEWS - George Fire and Rescue Services is attending to a controlled burn above Denneoord / Saasveld currently with assistance from GRDM Fire Services.
A helicopter is being utilised to secure the flank of the burn.
The burn forms part of the Kat River Alien Vegetation Management Project, aimed at reducing fuel loads and to remove invasive alien vegetation to support water security by improving water flow and storage in the Garden Route Dam.
The Municipality confirms that the activity is under control and thanks residents for their understanding and cooperation during this important environmental management activity.
