To date, the National Consumer Commission (NCC) has received 32 complaints from Vodacom and Cell C subscribers, who claim the network providers are acting unfairly.
There had been no complaints lodged against MTN.
In a move to further address consumer-related complaints in the telecommunications sector, the NCC and the Independent Communications Authority of SA (Icasa) signed a memorandum of agreement on matters of co-jurisdictions and common interest last month.
Acting Icasa chairman Rubben Mohlaloga said the joint venture with the NCC would improve referral processes thereby facilitating a much quicker response to consumer complaints.
During April, the NCC learnt through media reports that some mobile network service providers were proposing call and data increases to consumers.
