GEORGE NEWS - Carpe Musicam! is heading into the final stretch of what has become its busiest festive season yet, with two major concerts still to come this week as part of the ensemble’s The Best of Christmas series.
Audiences may look forward to these vibrant performances at Outeniqua High School Hall at 19:00 on Friday 12 December and at the Mossel Bay Town Hall at 18:00 on Sunday 14 December.
Tickets are R180 for adults and R20 for scholars, available online at carpemusicam.co.za or at the door from an hour before each show. Pre-show refreshments will be on sale.
These two concerts follow a sold-out opening performance in Sedgefield on 7 December, when the full CM! Concert Orchestra and Choir delivered a tender programme drawn from the ensemble’s most beloved Christmas works of the past decade.
Highlights included an exquisite performance of “What Child is This?” by violinist Cherith Bain, and a moving rendition of “Mary, Did You Know?”, showcasing the dynamic interplay between choir and orchestra.
The December line-up forms part of a whirlwind festive season for Carpe Musicam!, which is experiencing its busiest Christmas since its founding in 2015.
Within just three weeks, the Carpe Musicam! Pops Band has already performed twice - first at the Garden Route Mall on 29 November, and then at a hugely successful fundraising concert for the Garden Route Botanical Garden on 5 December, which drew a large and appreciative crowd on a perfect summer’s evening.
