Incorporating a number of similarities with the concept, whose exterior additions will be kept as an appearance package over the standard model known in Indonesia as the Satya, the Brio sports a more rounded front facia derived from the Mobilio and indeed the RS, while the side profile is characterised by a sweeping shoulder line extending upwards underneath the rear window, and a rear-end bearing not only similarities to the Jazz, but also the Civic hatch from three generations ago.
As well as being noticeably bigger than the model it replaces, with an overall length of 3 815mm (+175mm) and wheelbase of 2 405 (+60mm), although height remains at 1 485mm and width at 1 680mm, the Brio also gains a full tailgate and a five-door option for the first time, now that the sedan is sold separately as the Amaze without the Brio suffix.
Specification still unknown, while up front, motivation will come from a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 66kW/110Nm. In Indonesia, the mill is mated as standard to a five-speed manual gearbox with a CVT being optional.
No pricing as yet been revealed or indeed a local launch date, but expect availability to commence next year if given the all-clear by Honda South Africa.
