Denoting Future Toyota - Adventure Concept, the aggressive looking four-wheel drive SUV takes a number of styling cues from the 4Runner and Tacoma pick-up sold in United States, with Toyota claiming its offers the ideal "versatility for (buyers) living an active lifestyle".
Riding on 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain rubber, the FT-AC features a black grille with centre running silver logo bar, chunky plastic cladding around the wheel arches, skidplate at the front and at the base of the doors, LEDs integrated into the headlights, roof track and on the aforementioned front skidplate, twin recovery hooks and removable infrared cameras mounted on the mirrors.
In keeping with its name, the FT-AC comes equipped with an integrated mountain bike rake Toyota claims can be "securely hidden in only a few seconds". No interior images have been provided.
Following the FT-4X and Tj Cruiser shown at the Tokyo Motor Show earlier this year, the FT-AC rides on the same TNGA platform as the C-HR, and features a variable terrain response system with four-wheel locking and an "advanced" Torque Vectoring system that sends the available power from side to side.
No technical details have been revealed, although Toyota does hint that it comes powered by a petrol engine, as well as teasing that it could get a hybrid powerplant if put into production.
