GEORGE NEWS - A terrifying night transpired for a young woman from Thembalethu on Sunday 10 November in Zone 7, when she was kidnapped and severely assaulted, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, while visiting her current boyfriend.
According to information obtained by George Herald, the ordeal began when the suspect reportedly kicked down the victim's boyfriend's door while she was visiting him, and attempted to assault the boyfriend.
He managed to escape, but the female victim was not that fortunate.
The suspect then dragged the woman to his bakkie and drove her to an open field in Thembalethu where he reportedly assaulted her with an unknown blunt object before pushing her back into the vehicle.
On his way to search for the victim's boyfriend, the suspect picked up two other men and drove to the Thembalethu police station, where the boyfriend was allegedly busy opening a case. It is believed that they wanted to wait for him outside.
According to unconfirmed information, however, the group, with the victim still in the vehicle, then drove to the boyfriend's house where they found one of his friends.
A fight ensued between the trio and the friend, and he was allegedly badly beaten and also forced into the bakkie.
They drove to an open field in Asazani with the two victims, tied the male victim's hands with rope and beat him further.
Leaving the friend in the field, the suspects, with the female victim in the bakkie, drove back to the boyfriend's house where they assaulted him before dropping him next to the N2 highway between George and Mossel Bay.
He managed to find his way to the hospital where he was treated.
The female victim was taken to the suspect's house in Lawaaikamp where she was locked up for two days before her father arrived with the police on Tuesday 12 November.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies confirmed that Thembalethu detectives are investigating a kidnapping and assault case following the incident.
Jonas Mamba (24) and Jerso Ngovene (32), who handed himself over to the police, appeared in the George Magistrate's Court on Monday. The third suspect is still at large.
