GEORGE NEWS - Animal welfare knows no boundaries, and neither do our dedicated inspectors from the Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA) who travel extensively to ensure animals in even the most remote areas are cared for.
Their area covers as far as Uniondale and Haarlem, where access to resources and veterinary care can be limited.
Just last week, a mother cat and her adorable kittens from the Uniondale area, were surrendered to the GRSPCA. The female was spayed before she went back home and the kittens were made available for adoption.
"By reaching these areas, we aim to provide essential services and improve the lives of animals that might otherwise go unnoticed," says GRSPCA's Sam Trietsch.
This small act is a big step in preventing further stray populations and ensuring a healthier life for the mother and her offspring.
"However, our work relies heavily on community support. Every donation fuels our journey - literally. Contributions towards fuel for our inspectors’ travels and our Adopt-a-Spay program allow us to expand our reach and impact even more animals," says Trietsch.
Every liter, every contribution counts in this mission to improve animal welfare in rural areas.
