GEORGE NEWS - The weekend of 14-15 October will see the head of the New Apostolic Church International, which has close to 10-million members in countries all over the world, visiting Cape Town.
Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will stop over in George on his return trip.
For the New Apostolic Christians in the George area, this will be a most memorable occasion as the Chief Apostle will address them in a special divine service scheduled for Tuesday evening 17 October.
This gathering will take place in the Eden Place hall and those who have been invited to gather there are looking forward to this event with great anticipation. Jean-Luc Schneider is known for his insightful interpretation of the gospel that gives current relevance to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
To make the occasion more exciting and add international flavour, the Chief Apostle will be accompanied by District Apostle Ekhuya, who serves as the head of the church in East Africa, and District Apostle Minio, who leads the regional church in South America.
In addition to the divine service on Tuesday evening, the leader of the church and his entourage will pay a visit to the congregations of Bridgton in Oudtshoorn and Hornlee in Knysna.
These congregations form part of the George Bishop Area, which comprises over 50 congregations with a collective membership just short of 12 500.
The New Apostolic Church is a Christian church that has its foundation in the teachings of Holy Scripture.
It is led by apostles and the return of Christ to take home His bride stands central to the doctrine.
Everyone is welcome to attend divine services, which take place at 09:00 on Sunday mornings and at 19:30 on Wednesday evenings.
There is no doubt that the Chief Apostle’s stopover in George will be a memorable occasion and a source of blessing for all who attend.
