LIFESTYLE NEWS - An improved version of the Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) app has been released on Android and iOS.
The enhanced functionality includes:
- Finding your closest blood donation clinic;
- Easy access to blood donation clinics by viewing the GPS coordinates;
- Setting reminders on your calendar for your next blood donation clinic;
- Digital donor card;
- Blood stock levels; and
- Access to all of the WCBS's social media platforms.
Potential donors also have the option to create a profile. Once you create a profile, a WCBS staff member will be in touch to find out where you would like to donate your first unit of life-saving blood.
If you are from the ages of 16 to 75, weigh 50kg or more, are healthy on the day of donation, lead a safe sexual lifestyle and would like to save three lives in just 30 minutes, you should be able to donate.
