GEORGE NEWS - A 23-year-old suspect from Thembalethu was arrested on Sunday 2 October after the gruesome discovery of a woman's body in Mossel Bay earlier that day.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the body was found in the bushes in Bokwe Street, Kwanonqaba (Mossel Bay), by a group of children who were playing in the area.
"The body had visible bruises and an open wound to the face. The victim was later identified as Nomaphela Pantsi (21) from Knysna," said Spies.
The police probe took the investigating team to a house in Thembalethu, George, were the suspect was arrested on a charge of murder.
He was scheduled to make his first appearance in court on Wednesday 5 October.
By the time of going to print, no details surrounding the court case were available yet.
