GEORGE NEWS - The new executive mayor of George, Leon van Wyk, is giving Georgians the chance to add value to the city, through interactive virtual meetings about George.
Held on the first Thursday of every month, 10 Georgians are granted the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative feedback session on the future of George via Zoom meeting Van Wyk and his mayoral committee (mayco).
Meeting details
The second meeting of this nature takes place on Thursday 2 July from 15:30 to 17:00.
Topic: Dealing with Covid-19 for the next 12 months - overview by Van Wyk.
Individual presentations: 10 people will be given a slot of 2,5 minutes (250 words) to put forward their views - comments on the future, what is needed, how they wish to grow.
Discussion: 30 minutes
How to take part
Email your Business Name and contact details including, Name and Surname, email address and contact cell or landline number to supportbusiness@george.gov.za to receive confirmation that you have been successful applying to attend the meeting and the Zoom Link.

According to Communications Manager Chantel Edwards-Close, this will work on a first come first served basis and speakers will be rotated each month to allow everyone a fair opportunity to participate.
