GEORGE NEWS - Please note that refuse will be collected on the Public Holiday, Youth Day, 16 June 2023 as per the usual schedule.

  • The Gwaiing Landfill site is open weekdays from 07:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 07:00 to 18:00.
  • On public Holidays it is open from 07:00 to 15:00.
  • The landfill site is closed on Sundays.

The site is situated next to the George Showgrounds on R102 (Old Airport Road). For enquiries contact the landfill site directly on 044 803 9287/97 or the Cleansing department in Meade Street on 044 802 2900.
