Protest action: N2 remains closed

GEORGE NEWS - The N2 between Pacaltsdorp and the Garden Route Mall remains closed for traffic in both directions due to protest action. 

Traffic is being redirected. 

The Thembalethu bridge has also been closed due to protest action. Protests here started as early as 05:00 this morning.

Emergency services are on high alert.

GO GEORGE affected
Most of the main GO GEORGE bus routes are being covered, however,  there might be delays on Routes 3 Blanco Community, 58 Heather Park and Heatherlands, and 13 City Loop.

Take note that Route 12 (Pacaltsdorp - Mall) will follow the same route as yesterday afternoon, travelling from the Mall along Knysna Road into town, turning left into Memoriam Street and travelling to Pacaltsdorp via Hope Street. The reverse of this route will be followed from Pacaltsdorp to the Mall.

Clinics closed
The Thembalethu Community Day Centre and Kuyasa Clinic in Thembalethu have also been temporarily closed due to the protest action. Patients are asked to go to Conville Clinic and Lawaaikamp Clinic as an alternative measure.
