GEORGE NEWS - Extended load shedding implemented by Eskom, complications at the Water Treatment Works, Raw Water pumping constraints and the main water pipeline burst yesterday, 6 December, have led to the main drinking (potable) water reservoirs dropping to critically low levels.
The municipality requests the public to please reduce your water usage to the absolute minimum so as to allow the water purification process to catch up to the demand level.
This affects all areas in George and residents will have noted very low water pressure.
The municipality apologises for the situation and request your assistance in ensuring that water usage is kept to a minimum.
Please use water sparingly and only for absolutely essential needs.
