GEORGE NEWS - It was party time at George Municipality when it recently held a celebratory function for the manager of Committee Services, Rosemary Bredenkamp, as well as a surprise farewell party for one of their tea ladies, Seronia Tarentaal.
Bredenkamp celebrated 40 years of service at George Municipality on 1 September. Her colleagues arranged a celebratory function for her at work during lunchtime.
Director of Corporate Services Krishenthrie Moodley congratulated Bredenkamp on this stellar achievement and spoke of her character.
She said a person who can work 40 years for one employer must have a special level of tenacity, grit, endurance and commitment. Moodley said Bredenkamp is a stunning example of a purpose-driven career and they share a special bond.
Tarentaal, who worked as a tea lady and formed a part of the digital and scanning team for the past four years, retired on 31 August. Corporate Services held a surprise farewell party for her on the day.
