Update
GEORGE NEWS - The murder case resulting from the death of the 30-year-old Jacques de Buys from Hoekwil in February last year has been postponed to 4 March for plea negotiations.
The accused, Marco Zampieri (35), appeared in the George Magistrate's Court on Monday 2 February.
Zampieri had earlier been granted bail of R1 000 and, as part of his strict bail conditions, has to stay in Johannesburg with his family.
The two men allegedly had an altercation in a local bar on the night of the incident, which continued outside and left Zampieri briefly unconscious.
Later, Zampieri allegedly went over to De Buys' house and confronted him with a knife. De Buys sustained fatal stab wounds.
Zampieri surrendered himself to the police shortly afterwards and was arrested on a charge of murder.
The next court appearance will determine whether a plea agreement can be reached.
