Beyond the merriment, staff members select and support a charity in order to give back to the community. The Celebrating our People project honours staff members and empowers them to share their abundance with the community. Hyatt celebrates its employees worldwide, approximately 75 000 people, over the same three days every year.
Jaco le Roux, general manager of Hyatt Regency Oubaai says they pride themselves on three core values when it comes to the running of the hotel.
"We strive to do nothing without caring for people, sincere service and authentic hospitality, and I believe that the execution of these three principles sets us apart from our competition. We are extremely proud of our staff. They are undoubtedly our most valuable assets."
The Hyatt Regency Oubaai employs 300 staff members and they continually endeavour to empower their staff through internal and external initiatives. Earlier this year they sent two of their chefs to Indonesia on a culinary expedition.
