"We are introducing the product at competitive prices and our customers can have the peace of mind that packaging is done in a regulated, hygienic and safe environment," says General Manager, Basilis Apostolellis.
"Golden Harvest took the decision to invest in the new facility because we see the market is changing. The consumer wants to have faster, easier meals that take less time to prepare in today's fast-paced life. Prepackaged vegetables are as a rule very expensive, but we want to supply this convenient range to our customers at affordable prices."
The packaging facility has been developed in conjunction with the commercial food testing laboratory, Swift Micro Laboratories to meet stringent health and safety requirements. Packing is done under controlled temperatures. Final Hazard Analysis and Criticial Control Points (HACCP) accreditation, which is the highest standard for food safety, is being awaited.
"We want our customers to be sure that the Golden Harvest brand on the packaging means that they are buying a safe and hygienic product," says Apostolellis.
The processing plant is set up in such a way that supermarket chains can be supplied as well.
Look out for Golden Harvest's opening specials on their prepacked products that are now available.
