GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality advises that the intersection of Knysna Road and Madiba Drive has been fully closed to traffic following the failure of a sewer mainline, which resulted in the formation of a sinkhole at the site.
In addition, one lane of Knysna Road, in the direction of the Garden Route Mall, has been closed to allow for emergency repair work.
Motorists are urged to reduce speed, exercise caution, and adhere to all traffic signage in the area, as heavy machinery is currently operating on site.
A more detailed notice regarding the repair work and anticipated timelines will be issued later this morning.
The Municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.
