GEORGE NEWS - With your votes, George could have its very own winner of the popular SABC 1 reality TV show, the 1's and 2's DJ competition.

Siviwe Zondani (29) who resides in Thembalethu, has made it to the top three in the competition.

Zondani, who goes by the name of DJ Svig, has been a DJ for the past 13 years.

The support of the George community can make him the first DJ from the Southern Cape to win the most popular DJ competition in the country.

To make it to the top three, Zondani has raised above thousands of contenders from all over the country, proving that he has what it takes to be the country's best DJ. If he wins, his prize will be a whopping R150 000 worth of DJ equipment that will enable him to produce his own music.

The show is presided over by celebrity resident judges DJ Naves (Lebogang Naves) and Sphectacula (Sphe Ngwenya) from Metro FM and is hosted by beautiful Thando Thabethe.

Zondani says to be where he is now in the competition was not an easy journey. Throughout, he faced lots of obstacles and winning the competition will mean a lot to him.

"My 13 years of experience paid off, and the pressure didn't scare me that much in the end. However, I had to put a lot of effort and creativity into my work," he said.

He wants to prove to his parents, who sometimes doubted his choice of being a DJ, that one can actually make a career in music. "I want to also prove to my community that it doesn't matter where one comes from - if you put in lots of effort and dedication, you can achieve your dreams," said Zondani.

The finals will be aired live on SABC 1 next Tuesday 22 August, at 21:00 in the evening. Make sure you tune in to vote for him. To ensure Zondani wins the competition, SMS DJ 3 to 33121.
