ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The Rae of Hope Foundation’s annual heritage high tea on Sunday 28 September promises to be an afternoon of elegance, cultural celebration and meaningful connection.
It will start at the Uniting Reformed Church at 15:00 and will be hosted by Dr Janene Maloy, who serves as the driving force behind the foundation.
The afternoon will spotlight a line-up of distinguished guests and performers:
- Gregory Noble, local celebrity painter and accomplished MC
- Prophetess Fredorah Geldenhuys-Arendse, known for her spiritual leadership
- Lynette du Plessis, respected for her contributions to the dance community
- Wilhelm ‘Wimpee’ Williams, talented artist
- Abi Sochop, an emerging voice
- Alistair Oosthuizen, bringing musical flair to the gathering.
Building on the legacy of Ouma Raaitjie Syffers, a community pioneer, the Rae of Hope Foundation continues her vision through the leadership of Maloy, her granddaughter.
Syffers was revered as the first woman of colour to serve on the George Council and a key figure in the Build a Better Society movement.

Purpose and community impact
The forthcoming event focuses on celebration and cultural unity and follows in the footsteps of the previous successful heritage high tea last year that was a celebration of Heritage Month and a means to fund the foundation’s vital outreach initiatives.
At this yearly event, the organisation recognises pillars within the local community by presenting a certificate of recognition to them.
Guests can anticipate an afternoon of inspiration by connecting with leaders, artists and changemakers, while celebrating heritage and contributing to a worthy cause.
Tickets are R200, but are limited, and include a special gift bag.
Enquiries/bookings: Maloy on 0785883749.
