ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Classical music enthusiasts are in for a treat when the Gauteng Guitar Quartet performs for the George Music Society at the Market Community Theatre on Sunday 19 July at 15:00.
Regarded as South Africa's premier - and currently only - professional performing classical guitar quartet, the ensemble has earned acclaim for its fresh approach to chamber music and engaging concert programmes.
Established in early 2024, the quartet made its debut in Johannesburg in July that year and quickly gained recognition for expanding the classical guitar repertoire through adventurous yet highly accessible performances.
Their warm, conversational style and remarkable versatility have made them favourites with audiences across the country.

The quartet comprises four of South Africa's leading classical guitarists and music educators:
- Dillon Davie, a versatile fretted-instrument musician and Wits University graduate;
- Ryan Kirsten, an accomplished classical performer and regular ensemble collaborator;
- Jonathan Moolman, a passionate chamber musician based in Gauteng; and
- Nathalie Roué, an acclaimed classical guitarist who completes the ensemble.
Tickets cost R190 (public), R150 (George Music Society members) and R50 (learners).
Book online at www.georgemusicsociety.co.za or purchase a ticket at the door before the concert.
