GEORGE NEWS - The George Arts Theatre came alive with the enchanting performance of Snow White: The Ballet last weekend, presented by the Megan Wille School of Ballet.
This timeless fairytale was reimagined through the elegance and grace of dance, taking audiences on a magical journey from regal courts to mystical enchanted forests, weaving a story of beauty, jealousy and courage.
The ballet, a delightful celebration of dance and storytelling, marked the Megan Wille School of Ballet's first-ever stage production, achieving remarkable success with fully booked, well-attended shows.
The production showcased a cast of 55 ballet students, ranging in age from four to 18, each bringing their unique energy to the stage. Leading the performance was the talented Shaela Heystek, an ex-York High learner, whose portrayal of Snow White was nothing short of mesmerising. Her graceful movements and emotive storytelling embodied the character's purity and kind soul.

"My heart is bursting with pride! Every ballerina, from the youngest to the eldest, danced with so much passion and dedication. I am incredibly proud that this Snow White production was our ballet school's very first stage performance," says Megan Wille, the ballet school's owner and teacher.
"I could not have done it without my incredible team: Ilze Tulleken, my dear friend and our brilliant playwright, and Shaela Heystek, our talented choreographer. I am also truly grateful for every parent's support and dedication - without you, it would not have been possible."
