GEORGE NEWS - Swimmers from the Royal Swimming Academy in George scooped up three of the four prestigious awards at the Eden Aquatics Long Course Swimming Championship held over the past weekend in Oudtshoorn.
The three swimmers are Tammy Greenwood (junior victrix ludorum), Luca Potgieter (junior victor ludorum) and Frances Herholdt (senior victrix ludorum).
Many of the club's swimmers achieved personal best times. Solid performances came from Adelia Dos Santos (4th out of 38 competitors), Sergio Dos Santos, Matthew Seabrook and Marnis Grobler (5th, 6th and 9th respectively out of 44 competitors).
Not only did the swimmers shine in the individual events, they also achieved gold in the u.12 200m freestyle mixed relay.
Established in 2014, the Royal Swimming Academy now has over 160 swimmers. With four qualified swim coaches, the club continues to go from strength to strength and has swimmers competing regionally and nationally.
