GEORGE NEWS - Thirteen members of the Royal Swimming Academy ( RSA) in George represented the Eden District provincial team (formerly SWD) at the interprovincial gala which was held in Port Elizabeth last weekend.
They are Adelia Dos Santos, Sergio Dos Santos, Tammy Greenwood, Marnis Grobler, Frances Herholdt, Marnis Kotzé, Michelle Human, Malan Lehnberg, Kodi Minnie, Hannah Murray, Luca Potgieter, Matthew Seabrook and Luca Whitehead.
The swimmers rose to the occasion and brought home eight medals, including three golds.
The medal winners are: 400 free u.14 - Hannah Murray (bronze); 400 free u.15 - Sergio Dos Santos (silver); 50 back u.17 - Frances Herholdt (bronze); 100 breast u.10 - Matthew Seabrook (gold); 100 free 11-12 - Luca Potgieter (silver); 100 free 15-16 - Sergio Dos Santos (gold); 50 breast u.10 - Matthew Seabrook (gold); 100 back 11-12 - Tammy Greenwood (bronze).
Established in 2014, the Royal Swimming Academy now has over 160 swimmers, from beginner / learn-to swim through to its very own masters swimmers. With four qualified swim coaches, the club continues to grow from strength to strength and has swimmers competing regionally and nationally.
