SPORT NEWS - Students of the Sullivan JKA Karate dojo (George and Mossel Bay) delivered an impressive performance at the JKA Garden Route Karate Tournament held in George on 18 October.
The young athletes showed remarkable skill, discipline and sportsmanship, walking away with a total of nine gold, six silver and four bronze medals.
Among the top achievers were Niaan Boshoff (10), Kara Kotze (8) and Marnich Bester (13), who each claimed double gold in both kata and kumite.
Other notable performances included 15-year-old Jonathan-Daniël Bester (2nd in kata, 1st in kumite) and 50-years-old Anel Brandt (1st in kata, 3rd in kumite).
Sensei Terry-Lee Sullivan congratulated all participants for their dedication and hard work. “Each student gave their best, and the results speak for themselves,” she said.
